Linda Lou Carico Sumner, 78 of Galax, Va., passed away March 6, 2024. She was born in Carroll County, Va., on May 5, 1945, to James Roger and Nona Faye Higgins Carico. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall William Sumner.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Michael Curtis of Galax, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Laura Sumner of Salisbury, N.C.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Geneva and Clifford Horton of Clarksville, Tenn., Brenda and Larry Carpenter and Mary Carrico, all of Galax, Va.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Norma Carico and Kenneth and Debbie; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three step- grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
