Grayson County VFW Post 7726 and the Virginia National Guard’s Military Funeral Honors Unit paid respects March 5 at the burial of U.S. Army veteran Thomas Bennett. Post Commander Dan Boyer and Chaplain Tommy Nichols conducted the service. The Honor Guard provided a 21-gun salute and “Taps” was played. The U.S. flag was presented to Linda Bennett, wife of the deceased.
