HILLSVILLE — Sandra Terry of Hillsville has been reelected to serve another term as commander of Grover King VFW Post 1115.
She also serves as the VFW flea market manager.
Donald Trausneck of Woodlawn was elected senior vice commander and Scott Lasorso of Hillsville was elected junior vice commander, as the two switched positions for the coming year. Also elected to office during the monthly meeting April 8 were incumbent Quartermaster Gary Adams and Trustee Roger McGlocklin.
Adams is currently serving as the VFW state commander.
It was announced during the meeting that Post 1115 has achieved over 100% of its membership quota for this year.
Grover King VFW Post 1115 holds regular membership meetings the second Monday of each month at 10 a.m. at the post home on West Stuart Drive in Hillsville. Eligible veterans are invited and encouraged to join and they are looking for young members to keep the group alive.
A regular activity of the VFW is the Monday Night Music Jam at 6 p.m. every Monday night, except during weeks that contain a holiday. Old-time, bluegrass and gospel music are played by area musicians in an informal setting.
