    Tiny print
The people that publish the telephone book, are they the size of germs? They say it is larger print. It’s small print and you can’t even use a microscope or a magnifying glass to make it large enough so you can read it. I have 20/20 vision and I can’t read it.

    Proud of Galax schools
Thank you for the articles on the high school science fair and the national award on Safe Routes to School. Kudos to everyone involved. We have much to be proud of with our city schools and I appreciate your paper giving them excellent coverage.

    Long timeline
There is much too long a process in this country for those wanting to be president of the United States. If you are a governor or senator, do your job. Then, there are those tired of counting their millions and figure, “I guess I will run for president.” As for ISIS, what is wrong with people today? Because they don’t get their way, they lash out and kill or maim innocent people. Such hatred.

    Law for everybody
I saw the other day where one of the guys running for city council got a parking ticket. I watched that man from the city put a parking ticket on it. If he runs for city council, looks like he would have to obey the laws, too. He knows what the laws are. I just want everybody to know that.

    Rigging the election

  • Readers' Hotline 3/23/16

After driving on Pipers Gap Road yesterday, I was disappointed in seeing people’s yards filled with old cars sitting on blocks up there in front of their yards. Also, so many with trash piled in their yards. Why doesn’t the county or EPA do something about this?

    Groundhog says
It’s been an early spring. The birds are chirping. The turkeys are hollering. The grass is greening up. I think it’s maybe here to stay, but don’t forget the ground hog. We only have six more weeks of bad potholes.

    Crude display
What a vulgar, crude display at the past Republican debate. What negative role models for our children.

    Where’s the baby?
I was just wondering why the new baby of 2016 wasn’t in the paper. I’m sure there is one that has been born, but I haven’t seen it in the paper.
