  • Eisenhauer pleads no contest to murder

CHRISTIANSBURG — David Edmond Eisenhauer was found guilty of the murder of Nicole Lovell, abduction and concealing her body, after he pleaded no contest to all three charges in Montgomery County Circuit Court on Friday.

The plea came in the wake of the prosecution’s attempt Thursday to submit chat conversations recovered from his phone as evidence.

  • DNA evidence links victim, suspects

CHRISTIANSBURG — As David Eisenhauer’s murder trial continued this week, prosecutors presented a mounting pile of evidence and DNA analysis they say links the former Virginia Tech student to the stabbing death of a Blacksburg teen.

Eisenhauer, 20, of Columbia, Md., has pleaded not guilty in the 2016 killing of 13-year-old Blacksburg native Nicole Lovell. He stands accused of murder, abduction and concealing a body.

  • Defense shifts blame to Keepers

    Day 2

Tammy Weeks, Lovell’s mother, was called as a witness on Tuesday.

She spoke of her daughter’s early illness that led to a liver transplant, which from childhood on necessitated Lovell to take immunosuppressive drugs so that her body would not reject the donor organ. Weeks or Lovell’s grandfather, who also lived there, would set out Lovell’s pills in the morning.

  • Trial begins in Lovell murder case

CHRISTIANSBURG — Prior to jury selection, David Eisenhauer pleaded not guilty in the 2016 stabbing death of 13 year old Blacksburg native Nicole Lovell in the Montgomery County Circuit Court on Monday.

Eisenhauer, 20, of Columbia, Md., a former Virginia Tech student, stands accused of murder, abduction and concealing a body.

The Blacksburg case has a local connection, as Eisenhauer has family in the Twin Counties and Lovell’s body was found beside Route 89 in North Carolina, just south of the Galax city limits and the Grayson County border.
