INDEPENDENCE — Grayson County managed only one hit on April 2 and lost a 12-0 Mountain Empire District game to the Auburn Eagles.
Brody Hensel pitched a strong game to shut out the Blue Devils in a game called in the fifth inning because of the 10-run rule.
Hensel struck out 12 and allowed only one hit to Maverik Goad, who went 1-for-2 for the Blue Devils (4-2, 2-1 MED).
Zac McGlothlin had the hot bat for the Eagles (7-1, 4-0 MED). He had two hits, including a grand slam homerun, and registered five RBIs.
Matthew Altizer also contributed a homerun and a double, while Josh Givens added a 2-run single.
