HILLSVILLE — A Carroll County Circuit Court grand jury met March 18 and returned 48 indictments against 39 defendants.
The charges ranged from the attempted larceny of a catalytic converter, burglary and theft of an animal to assault, abduction, carjacking and numerous drug violaitons, including possession of fentanyl.
An indictment indicates that a grand jury found sufficient evidence for a case to go to trial, and does not indicate guilt. All of those indicted are innocent until proven guilty.
According to court records, the following people were indicted:
• Savannah Mariele Asher — possession of a Schedule I/II drug (meth).
• John Franklin Barrow — possession of a Schedule I/II drug (meth).
• Joseph Marcus Belton — attempted larceny of a catalytic converter.
• Ronnie Clark Bobbitt — possession of a Schedule I/II drug (meth).
• Carl Dean Boyles — aggravated sexual battery.
• Carrie Lynn Carper — possession of a Schedule I/II drug (meth).
• Colby Craig Cassell — two counts for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug (meth).
• Granger Cain Casteele — possession of a Schedule II drug (meth); possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule I/II drug.
• Justin Alexander Clifton — possession of a Schedule I/II drug (fentanyl).
• John Eric Cooley — possession of a Schedule I/II drug (meth).
• Kacie Renea Cox — possession of a Schedule I/II drug (meth).
• Oliver Leon Delp — possession of a Schedule I/II drug (meth).
• Autumn Lynn Edwards — possession of a Schedule I/II drug (meth).
• Melvin Douglas Garth — possession of firearms after being convicted of a felony.
• William Leon Goad — possession of a Schedule I/II drug (meth).
• Robert Davis Gray — possession of a Schedule I/II drug (meth).
• Jonathan Clifford Hall — possession of a Schedule I/II drug (meth).
• Donald Ray Hayslip — possession of a Schedule I/II drug (meth).
• Roger Ernest Hiatt — grand larceny.
• Ashley John Hylton — possession of a Schedule I/II drug (meth).
• Don L. Jones — use of a firearm in the commission of a felony; statutory burglary; abduction; rape; possession of firearms after being convicted of a felony; forcible sodomy; maliciously discharging a firearm within an occupied dwelling.

• Donnie Lee Moore — possession of a Schedule I/II drug (meth).
