Chestnut Creek School of the Arts has launched plans for this year’s Fall Into Art Festival on Oct. 5 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., with the theme of “The heART of Galax.”
Do you make stuff and would like to sell it? Would you like to meet others who both make and appreciate hand-crafted items?
CCSA is actively calling all creatives to apply to be a vendor by renting or sharing a booth, joining the school in celebrating creativity and community at this annual free event.
This festival will consist of art/craft booths, along with CCSA Studio Booths in pottery, painting and printmaking, wood, fiber, glass and more, along the Main Street downtown corridor. This event is free and open to the public.
CCSA booths will have hands-on demonstrations along with a host of activities: chalk painting a barn quilt, acoustic music, pumpkin carving, face painting, drum circle, Bongo Babies, yoga, Qi Gong, dog costume contest, yard games, yART sales at CCSA Main, and much more.
“We’d like to celebrate past, current and future students by including them in this event,” said CCSA Executive Director Chris Pollins. “We mentor great artists into teachers, and coach consignment artists to succeed in sales. While the benefit of creativity ultimately lies in the process, this is our opportunity to put out what we all make both as an economic and community development vehicle. We’d like to personally invite and encourage creatives to come be part of this event.”
If you never sold your work before, the school can match you with others or include you and your work into a CCSA Studio Booth.
Chestnut Creek School of the Arts, a collaborative project with the City of Galax, preserves and promotes the cultural heritage of southwest Virginia by fostering artistic and individual growth through classes and events in traditional music, heritage crafts and contemporary arts.
