Three others also killed after a tractor-trailer hit a cow

HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — A 45-year-old Woodlawn, Va., man was among the four people killed when a tractor-trailer struck a cow on Interstate 40 and set in motion a crash with two other vehicles Tuesday evening.
Reports name Brian Lederer of Woodlawn as a passenger in the tractor trailer and the driver as Rodney Price, 49, from North Carolina, both of whom died after the incident, according to WTVF Channel 5 and other Tennessee news outlets.
Hitting the cow near the 109 mile marker at about 10 p.m. caused the eastbound tractor trailer to cross the median on I-40 and collide with two vehicles in oncoming traffic, including a Chevrolet Trailblazer.
The impact with the Trailblazer fatally injured two Ripley, Tenn., residents identified in news reports as Deborah Whitelow, 41, and Trarell Robinson, 22.
Another tractor trailer in the westbound lanes was also struck in the collision, but that driver was said to be uninjured.
