U.S. Cellular break-in suspects sought

Court records show that suspect Antwon Richardson absconded from the N.C. Dept. of Corrections.

The Galax Police Department is on the lookout for two men in connection with a recent break-in at U.S. Cellular.
On April 3 at 8 a.m., police responded to a report of a broken door glass at U.S. Cellular store at 1136 E. Stuart Drive.
According to a police report shared with The Gazette by Capt. James Cox, two men broke in to the store at 7 a.m. by breaking through the front door glass, and removed an undisclosed amount of merchandise from the building.
Officer Anne Toney obtained warrants for burglary and grand larceny on Antwon Bernard Richardson, 25, of Greensboro, N.C. Richardson is described as a black male; five feet, nine inches tall; 160 pounds; with black hair in dread locks and brown eyes.
North Carolina court records list Richardson as out of custody, having absconded from the N.C. Department of Corrections.
The second suspect has not been identified, said Cox.
The suspects were operating a faded black Jeep Grand Cherokee with North Carolina tags.
Officer Toney was assisted in the investigation by Sgt. Shawny Jones, Officer Terry Woods and Officer Trevor Jefferson.
