AUSTINVILLE ― First responders rushed to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 77 Monday afternoon, when a driver and two passengers received injuries after their car flipped multiple times near the 21 mile marker.

According to State Police Trooper Matt Cochran, Brandon Charles Bobbitt  of Austinville was traveling north in the left lane with two passengers — Claude Dean Bobbitt Sr. of Max Meadows and Claude Dean Bobbitt Jr. of Austinville — when the left rear tire fell off of the car.
“[Bobbitt] lost control, hit the bank median and turned over three times,” Cochran said. The accident occurred at approximately 2:05 p.m.
Cochran confirmed that one of the passengers was ejected from the car. All three received injuries as a result of the accident, but nothing that appeared to be life-threatening, said Cochran.
The vehicle, Cochran said, was a total loss.
The northbound lane was closed until 3:30 p.m. while cleanup crews worked at the scene, said Cochran.
