Play will return to stage in May

Due to popular demand, the original stage play “The Comforter” is returning to the stage of the historic Rex Theater in Galax next month.

Written by Alisha Brackens of Galax, who stars as the fan-favorite “Aunt Abby,” the play is the story of a family dealing with loss through laughter, song and pain.

The play is presented by A&L Productions, with stage direction by LeeAaron Brackens and musical direction by Alex Cutler.

Show dates are May 4 and May 5 at 7 p.m. and May 6 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12, and group rates are available for groups of 10 or more. Tickets are on sale now at local venues: Galax Visitor Center, The Galax Smokehouse and Chapters Bookshop, all on Grayson Street in downtown Galax; Oasis Hair Salon on Main Street in Galax; Delp’s Photography on Bee Line Drive in Woodlawn; or by calling (276) 266-4448 or (276) 266-5605.
