Halloween Happenings in the Twin Counties

-A A +A

Community Halloween events are planned throughout the Twin Counties on Tuesday. Here are some of the fun and frightful festivities scheduled for Oct. 31:

Hillsville’s Safe Halloween, held downtown at various venues.

The annual event allows parents and family to bring their children to a safe community function for trick-or-treating activities.

Many of the businesses in downtown Hillsville stay open late for the event. There are games, hay rides, a haunted house and food.

Children with their bags can go door to door to the town businesses for treats, with no tricks. This is an all around enjoyable family oriented event and visitors are encouraged to join in the fun. Oct. 31, 5-7 p.m.

Safe Halloween in Independence Town Park, Oct. 31, 4:30–7 p.m. All children are welcome at this annual event in Downtown Independence. maryann@independenceva.com or (276) 768-8656

Galax’s annual Monster Bash on Oct. 31 is sponsored by the Galax Downtown Association. Trick-or-treating, food, games, costume contest, dance and more. 5-8 p.m. Info: (276) 235-9339.
