Grayson officials say tax relief a success

Lower-income Grayson citizens, disabled veterans and their surviving spouses have saved thousands of dollars in tax relief, and the county wants more to take advantage.

INDEPENDENCE — Two different tax relief programs are being called a success in Grayson and county leaders are encouraging even more citizens to take advantage.
Larry Bolt, county commissioner of revenue, presented some updated statistics to the board of supervisors during its regular meeting earlier this month.
Bolt reminded the supervisors that they voted to expand the eligibility requirements for the county’s Elderly and Disabled Tax Relief Program last year.
