Company settles sexual harassment suit

Receptionist at Troutdale clinic said supervisor did nothing to prevent her from being sexually harassed by a patient.

ROANOKE — Saltville-based Southwest Virginia Community Health System Inc. (SVCHS) will pay $30,000 to settle a Grayson County sexual harassment lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Commission (EEOC), the agency recently announced.
The EEOC’s suit alleged that Karen Ross, a female receptionist at SCVHS’s Troutdale clinic in Grayson, which closed last year, was sexually harassed by a male patient during her employment there.
