Cavaliers let lead slip away in loss to Pulaski County

 DUBLIN –– Pulaski County bounced back from a 12-point halftime deficit and overtook Carroll County 55-52 in a River Ridge District game Friday night.

Trailing 29-17 at intermission, the Cougars got 14 points from Miguel Garcia in the third quarter to cut the gap to 40-36, then completed the comeback in the fourth.

Garcia led all scorers with 22 points and Logan Robertson added 13 for the Cougars.

Jordon Combs scored a team-high 18 points to lead the Cavaliers, Noah Johnson added 13 points and Forrest Johnson contributed 10.

Carroll County 68, Cave Spring 35: The Cavaliers built an 11-point halftime lead and blew the game open in the third quarter of an easy win Thursday in Hillsville.

Carroll County outscored the Knights 23-6 in the third to expand their lead to 51-23 by the start of the fourth.

Keely Lundy hit four 3-pointers and scored 16 points to pace Carroll County, which got 13 points from Mattie Kennedy.

Taylor White led Cave Spring with 13 points and Cait Flippen added 12.
