Galax kicked the ball around the park in a 5-1 loss at home. Strike one but no harm done. The Tide put up a fight a few weeks later but took a 1-0 loss at Auburn. Strike two but still alive. Funk had won the first set 6-2 but Stepp had battled back and was leading 5-3 in the second when the injury occurred. Conversely, the road team did little to stand in the way.</p>
