Members of the “You might be from the Twin Counties...” group on Facebook recently shared some thoughts and memories about Sept. 11, 2001. Here are a few comments from Twin County natives.

HILLSVILLE — The Carroll County Fair kicks off Wednesday with exhibits, music, contests and a corn maze at the Southwest Virginia Farmers Market.

Cruisin’ & Groovin’ will be held on Friday from 5-9 p.m., with hundreds of antique and classic cars, motorcycles and antique farm equipment lining the streets of downtown Galax.
This is the second Cruisin’ & Groovin’ of the summer, and 2011 marks the fourth year for the event, formerly Groovin’ on Grayson, sponsored by the Galax Downtown Association.
Downtown streets will close at 3 p.m.
Volunteers of the Galax Downtown Association will sell snacks and a DJ will provide a mix of music.
