    Meaner and meaner
I am amazed by people. I was recently involved with an animal that was abused. Came home with its tail duct-taped and its mouth duct-taped with a cigarette in its mouth. I was told to call and report this to animal control. Animal abuse and neglect is nothing to be laughed at. It is a serious matter and we all need to take this seriously. Our pets are part of our families. This world needs a lot of prayers going on right now. People are getting meaner and meaner and this old world is not going to be around very much longer.

    Where’d they go?
I was just checking to see if anybody knows what happened to Diamond Nails and El Parian?

    Recall everybody
I think they need to recall everybody in Congress and fire them like they did in Colorado.

    Regulate burning
I am calling about Robinhood Road. I have neighbors that constantly burn. It would be nice if the city would have some type of ordinance against this type of burning. Some of us that have asthma try to get out and walk and enjoy these great fall days. Yet, these people burn for some unknown reason and pollute the air. It is very difficult for us older people to get out and enjoy our decks and walking because of this constant burning — every single day. I wish the city would do something about that.

    Non-essential
Just a thought about the 800,000 non-essential employees that were sent home when the government shut down. If you are saying each one of them worked 8 hours a day, it would be 64 million hours. Times that by just $7 an hour — not even minimum wage — and you get $44,800,000. I wonder where that money is going to go. Is it going to reduce the deficit? That is just for one day, too. And, if it is non-essential, why are there 800,000 non-essential employees?

    Nonchalant
September has come and gone and Carroll County has still not kept its promise to publish the list of delinquent taxpayers in the county, some of which date back 20 years. It is almost tax time again and some of us are thinking seriously about not paying ours. In Carroll County you don’t have to worry about a tax collector.
