Magnificent sight
The vision of the great blue heron is truly a magnificent sight, whether they are on the riverbank, in the river or in the air. We often see them in Fries. But, thanks to the striking pictures so up close and personal in The Gazette by [nature columnist] Bill Dunson, I have a whole new insight and appreciation for this bird. Thank you for devoting space for this in our newspaper.

No exceptions
Recently I tried to park near the Grayson County School Board office and noticed that [a staff member’s] vehicle was occupying the handicapped space at the office. I do not believe the person is handicapped in any way and therefore found it inconsiderate and an insult to all handicapped persons wishing to park where they have a designated parking space. Perhaps the person should be reminded of the rules and that they apply to everyone.

It’s a shame that when you go through a bank drive-thru and you need to use the pen that is in the box and they sit and wait for you to drop it back in there. They must be awful poor if they can’t afford a pen.
