    Worker injured
I am disappointed that The Gazette didn’t report on an accident at the glass plant in Galax that happened when a young lady got both her ankles crushed and her knee disjointed and she will be in a wheelchair for months. I don’t know why it was never reported.

    Show respect
My mom was buried in a local cemetery two years ago. The headstone and footstone were pre-paid, but there is still a temporary marker bent by lawn mowers. My dad was a World War II veteran and was buried Christmas Eve. Not even a temporary marker on his grave with a two-foot pile of dirt still piled high. This is a disrespectful way to treat a veteran and his wife.

    Wants to know
I think every state ought to have to report the address of their sanctuary cities so people like me who live in Virginia can know if we are living next to one. I think it is our right as citizens of this country to know who is living beside us and who isn’t. I don’t think that is too much to ask for.

    Just a travesty

    Crows invasion
Terrace Lane residents never had crows until the garbage receptacles were overloaded and overflowing onto the street. Crows are mean. They kill rabbits and birds and make a trashy looking street. Be sure your garbage container lid is securely closed.

    No easy job
What I really think is shameful is someone again putting our president down. God doesn’t like that either. If he didn’t want Obama there, he would remove him. We need to pray for our president. That is not an easy job and no matter which way he goes, he will be criticized.

    Still curvy
I want to comment on the article about the Route 89 new road going into North Carolina. I have driven for 54 years, all over the United States and Canada. You drive that road — I just drove on 89 this past weekend — and you show me where that has helped anything other than maybe making it worse in the curve. It is going to be the same thing that it was. North Carolina is just throwing their money away.
