    Bravo
I moved to Grayson County from the New York City area. I was surprised to find such great a production of “Nunsense.” It rivals Broadway, 100 percent. Excellent job, Galax Theatre Guild. Keep up the good work.
Editor’s note: We second that emotion. Bravo!

    Get over it

    Why no books?
With the very high tax rates in Grayson County, why are our children at Independence Middle School not provided textbooks?
Editor’s note: Grayson Schools’ Superintendent Elizabeth Thomas says books are being provided. The school system recently adopted and bought new social studies textbooks for grades K-12. “Although we are in the process of adopting a new mathematics textbook series for all grade levels, the current math textbooks are available to our students,” Thomas said.

    Bumping along
I wonder what’s going on with a store in the area that doesn’t appreciate us enough to fix the carts so they will roll through the store. They have knots on the wheels. I tried four carts today before I got one that would roll. If they cared about all of our business, you would think they would care enough to fix the carts so they would roll through the store.

    Too pushy

    Getting along
I just read The Gazette about all the nice comments that the Grayson County and Galax citizens said about each other and their teams. It is wonderful that these two schools and communities have come together and treated each other with such respect. That is such a great lesson to teach our young people. I only wish that school board politicians in Carroll County could follow that example. It’s a shame that Carroll County High School doesn’t have that school spirit. It’s just not there anymore.

    Delivery thoughts
There is a man and a woman that carries mail in Pipers Gap. When the woman carries the mail, you can depend on her being two hours later. The man gets here faster. The man should do it all the time.

    Does it well
