Speed trap
Can you have an investigative reporter determine why the bypass around Hillsville speed limit is only 55 when most areas that have similar features would have a 60 or 65 mph speed limit. I’m concerned that every time I use the bypass it has become a speed trap for the Hillsville Police Department to spend their time trying to catch people doing 55 on a highway that is designed for higher speeds.

The caller that had the concern about the goat being tied in a field had a good point. I think this could have been a case of animal cruelty if animal control had looked in to it more closely. But, if animal control in Carroll County is no more responsive than animal control in Grayson County, then you shouldn’t count on them to be there very often.

Galax City is all the time going up on people’s taxes. They need to fix the potholes in roads around town and also Carroll County needs to fix the potholes on Tower Road.

If the federal government is going to ban assault weapons and semi-automatic pistols with more than 10 rounds, well, how about being fair? In Hollywood, let’s not make any movies that have any assault weapons, and let’s take assault weapons out of video games. There should be no TV program with assault weapons.
