    Animals get priority
This is in comment about the animals being mistreated, left in cars. If anyone is not going to take care of the animals, they don’t need them in the first place. I have two dogs and I would do anything I can for them to protect them and provide medicine and all. My husband says I think more of the animals than I do him.

    Pulpit reserved
This is in reference to churches should leave politics out of the pulpit. That is for preaching — about our Lord and Savior.

    Bring it to a vote
Republicans want to delay the vote on the farm bill. All they do is work against the people that need that farm bill passed. I wouldn’t vote a Republican ticket for no way in the world.

    Better off

    In comparison
I agree with “so attractive.” I like to go to Walmart and let my husband sit on the bench while shopping. He is real old and I am, too. But, every time we leave Walmart he always gives me a compliment and tells me not to feel bad about myself, because other people really don’t look that good.

    Not so good

    Open to criticism
Romney is criticizing the people that were defending and dying for our country in the embassy. Criticizing the last words coming from them that were killed. I think that is disgraceful. Our country had embassies attacked under George W. Bush. Let’s think things over.

    Missed the boat
Well, looks like the tree-hugging do-gooders of Carroll County are at it again. They are opposing a wind farm — something that could potentially help all of us around here, maybe even reduce our electric bill that Appalachian Power keeps raising. But they all got to oppose it and come up with an ordinance to ban any future way of putting any wind farm up. Way to go, Carroll County. I guess y’all missed the whole thing about trying to be energy independent and trying to reduce electric bills.

    Magnificent sight
The vision of the great blue heron is truly a magnificent sight, whether they are on the riverbank, in the river or in the air. We often see them in Fries. But, thanks to the striking pictures so up close and personal in The Gazette by [nature columnist] Bill Dunson, I have a whole new insight and appreciation for this bird. Thank you for devoting space for this in our newspaper.

    Needs permit
Why does one certain person at the Grayson County School Board office park in the handicapped parking space? Isn’t it illegal to park in a handicapped space if you do not possess a handicapped tag or a sign?

    No exceptions
Recently I tried to park near the Grayson County School Board office and noticed that [a staff member’s] vehicle was occupying the handicapped space at the office. I do not believe the person is handicapped in any way and therefore found it inconsiderate and an insult to all handicapped persons wishing to park where they have a designated parking space. Perhaps the person should be reminded of the rules and that they apply to everyone.

    Undesirable job

    Not a big deal
I just read the Hotline comment about going through the bank drive-thru and waiting for an ink pen to use. I myself have gone through the drive-thru and accidentally taken the ink pen. So, how many ink pens would a bank go through each day if each person that went through that drive-thru took an ink pen? Needless to say, this is pitiful if you have got to complain about waiting on an ink pen.
