    Save the goat
The caller that had the concern about the goat being tied in a field had a good point. I think this could have been a case of animal cruelty if animal control had looked in to it more closely. But, if animal control in Carroll County is no more responsive than animal control in Grayson County, then you shouldn’t count on them to be there very often.

    Reply to Mongo
Hey Mongo. I’m glad that you and your dogs are happy and doing good and staying warm and I also hope that you change your mind about going down to Dugspur because you remember what happened before, you got locked up. You better stay in Galax so we can keep hearing from you.

    Pothole alert
Galax City is all the time going up on people’s taxes. They need to fix the potholes in roads around town and also Carroll County needs to fix the potholes on Tower Road.

    Good people
I thank my neighbor and my bosses at the factory for doing everything they have been doing for me since I have got cancer and to let everybody know there are still good people in this world and I hope God blesses each and every one of them.

    Cowards
These gangs are nothing but a bunch of lousy cowards. You couldn’t get them to go to Afghanistan or Iraq.

    Not for viewing
If the federal government is going to ban assault weapons and semi-automatic pistols with more than 10 rounds, well, how about being fair? In Hollywood, let’s not make any movies that have any assault weapons, and let’s take assault weapons out of video games. There should be no TV program with assault weapons.

    Many thanks
I would like to thank all the hard-working AEP employees and crews from other states for getting our power back on during the snowstorm. They worked long hours in the cold weather, sometimes having to carry poles and equipment because their trucks couldn’t get in where they needed to go. Some people didn’t have power for three or four days but AEP did do their best to get it back on as quickly as possible. Thank you again.

    Extra help
I would like to thank all the extra help we have had with getting our power restored — the help from American Electric Power and also any of the volunteer companies that have come in and the Asplundh tree-cutting company.

    Soaring debt
Regarding debt and dogs, you have a convoluted way of explaining away Obama’s spending and then you try to make Bush look bad in the process. Please, let me hear how you explain the fact that Obama has spent more in his years in office than all previous presidents combined have spent.
