Hotline

    Suspended
My comment is about Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott. He was suspended six games from the start of this season for alleged domestic violence. Where’s Black Lives Matter and all these other groups to come protest at the Cowboys’ facility about a domestic violence case? Why are the media not putting this on the front page?

    One clerk on duty
I was at the Galax post office last Saturday around 2 o’clock when there were six people in line and one person working the counter. Didn’t seem to be anybody there. No organization. I hate to say it but from now on I’m going to the UPS store. If our government can’t do better than that I’ll give my money to someone else. They always have two people working. Always glad to see you. It may cost a little more, but you are in and out of there in five to 10 minutes.

    A capital idea
I’m calling about the cost of the Galax football field that was described in the Hotline. What exactly is the capital fund? Where does that money come from and if it were not used for a football field, what would that money be used for out of a capital fund.

    Kudos, Gladeville
I just want to say how impressed I am with Gladeville  School’s parent pickup procedure. It is very fast, efficient and most of all, safe. If the other local schools do not do it like this, they should take notes from Gladeville School. Kudos.

    No good

    Be decisive
I am calling in response to the person that said the Elk Creek District needed a superhero to run for school board. We don’t need a superhero. We just need somebody with common sense that knows how to run something. Mr. Weatherman, our school board member now, is so under the thumb of all these committees such as concerned citizens and everything… We need someone who can make a decision for the kids and for the betterment of the school.

    Seeking attention
I have been watching the Hotline and what they keep saying about old men looking at women at the stores. I think I finally figured it out. It goes back to my childhood when I was sitting in the back of my family car and all of a sudden my sister would say, “Daddy, he’s looking at me again.” Of course, I wasn’t. It was her way of getting attention. If you need attention that bad, keep putting it in the Hotline and we will keep remarking to it.

    History to preserve

    Rings in their noses
I cannot believe employers allow employees to wear earrings in their nose and eyebrows and lips and work with the public. I have seen it multiple times. Disgusting. I won’t be going back there. Yes, these people have the right to express themselves but they should only be allowed to do it on their own time. When they are at work, they need to look presentable. I am a human resources manager and we have rules. Everyone should.

    It doesn’t matter
This is for “apt to look.” Why would you think someone wanted a woman to look at them if they were complaining about a man looking? What difference does it make? You want to be looked at like a human being. Are you like some of these people in churches that only help a few and don’t help those who need it? All of it rings true. Keep dragging yourself through the mud.

    The great divide
I just want to say I am so sick and tired of two words: Democrats and Republicans. They are causing the greatest division of anything ever in our country.

    Just woke up
