Larry Gene Chappell, 63, of Galax, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at his home.

He was born in Carroll County, on April 22, 1949, to Ernest and Inis Edmonds Chappell.

Claude H. Rutherford, 78, formerly of Galax, Va., peacefully passed away on April 25, 2012, in Gulf Shores, Ala., surrounded by family.  His faith in Jesus Christ brought great comfort to his family.

Roger Lee Carpenter Sr., 63, of Hillsville, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wesley and Elizabeth Williams.

Joel L. Poole, 67, of Corte Madera, Calif., died on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at the home of his sister, Linda Poole, Galax.
