    Sarah Leigh Vass Lineberry, 54, of Galax, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010 at her home.
    She was born March 16, 1956, to the late Dennis “Pete” and Faye Hanks Vass of Galax.
    Survivors are her husband, Lonnie Lineberry of the home; two step daughters, Syrenia Lineberry of Roanoke and Avery Dalton (Stephen L.) of Woodlawn; one foster son, Chris Rice of Rural Hall; one sister, Danise Vass Reynolds of Galax; and several nieces and nephews.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Ralph Summers.

    In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Byrd Strickland; and sister, Virginia Quesenberry Culler.

    He was the son of John A. Ricks Sr. and Ruth Harriss Ricks. He was born Dec. 23, 1906, in Greenville, N.C.
    He was a proud and loyal alumnus of Davidson College, graduating from there in 1929, and from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Va. in 1932.

    Survivors include his step daughter and husband, Brooke and Clarence Key of Powhatan; sister, Claudine Porter of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two step granddaughters; three step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Howard, Christine Goins, Ada and Tony Scales, all of Galax, Frances and Jesse Brown of Cleveland, Ohio; brothers and sister-in-law, William and Gay Beamer of Mount Airy, N.C., Willard Beamer of Cleveland, Ohio and Raymond Beamer of Galax; and several nieces and nephews.
