Rising bluegrass star Sierra Hull performs an instrumental at HoustonFest 2011 in Galax, Va., on May 6. Hull dedicated her latest album, "Daybreak," to her friend, Houston Caldwell.

HoustonFest program coordinators have worked to offer live performing arts presentations that showcase local, regional and national artists. Programs will combine music, panel discussions, and participants include musicians, historians, folklorists, artifact collectors, craftsmen and more.
The direction is toward education, interpretation and performances that show the context of regional culture. The Camp Houston Stage will feature an intergenerational experience enabling participants and patrons to work together and share the rich heritage of the region.
