Galax fiddlers' convention set for Aug. 8-13

The 76th Annual Old Fiddlers' Convention, sponsored by the Galax Moose Lodge, will be held Aug. 8-13, in Felts Park, with $20,000 in cash prizes, trophies and ribbons to be awarded.

FRIES — The Fries Spring Festival honoring Henry Whitter will be held Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Fries Town Park, located on Firehouse Drive along the banks of New River.
