Milestones

Madalyn Gregory turned 6 on Oct. 11. She celebrated with a Halloween costume party with her family and friends. She is the daughter of Jimmie and Whitney Gregory and the older sister of Aurora Sky Gregory of Fries.

Her grandparents are John and Frances Pierce of Fries; William and Vergie Lundy, Shirley and the late Glen Ward and Eddie and Brenda Ward, all of Independence; and Jacky Testerman of North Carolina.

Tiffany Janise Jones and Kriston Drew Nelson were united in marriage May 19 at Powder Mill Pond in Elk Creek in an afternoon Hawaiian-themed ceremony with family and friends.
The Rev. Bobby Lorton of Radford officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Jimmy and Michele Jones of Independence. She is the granddaughter of Virginia Ruth Sutherland of Fries and the late Claiborne Sutherland and the late Henry and Janie Jones.

Mr. and Mrs. Garnett Junior Lineberry of Woodlawn were honored with a celebration at their home church, Mount Zion Primitive Baptist, on Aug. 12.

The couple was married on Aug. 2, 1952. They have five children and 11 grandchildren. 
Family, friends, and the church family honored the couple with a celebration of love and treasured memories.

Ralph and Rhonda Hodge of Fries announce the engagement of their daughter, Angel Michelle Hodge, to Justin Rodney Vaughan, son of Rodney and Edna Vaughan of Fries.
Hodge is the granddaughter of the late Staley and Donna Lee Hodge and the late Wayne and Addie Bobbitt.

She is a 2003 graduate of Grayson County High School and a 2007 graduate of Virginia Tech. Hodge has a bachelor’s degree in communication and is employed by Brazzell Marketing Agency in Galax.
