Milestones

Riley Grace Anders celebrated her second birthday with a Chuggington party at Rockin Robins Daycare with family and friends. Her parents are Tiffany Jones of Elk Creek and Justin Anders of Rugby.

Her grandparents are Jimmy and Michele Jones of Independence and John and Leona Anders of Rugby. Her great-grandmother is Virginia Ruth Sutherland of Fries.

Mr. and Mrs. Steve Krejci of Woodlawn announced the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Elizabeth, to Andrew Seth Waller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Waller of Mount Airy, N.C.
A June wedding is planned.

Krejci is a 2010 graduate of Carroll County High School and is a student at Wytheville Community College while being employed at Subway.
Waller is a 2010 graduate of Mount Airy High School and is enlisted in the U.S. Army.

Jared Christopher Ogle and Tammy Crowder McGuire announced their engagement.
Ogle is the son of Donnie and Janet Ogle and the grandson of the late Elmo and Mary Jane Ogle, Ruth Aldred and the late Paul Aldred.

McGuire is the daughter of Kathy and Frank Delp and the late Dana Crowder. She is the granddaughter of Harold and Geneva Funk and the late Junior Cornett, Robert and Shelby McLean and the late Melvin Crowder.
A spring wedding is planned.

Mr. and Mrs. John Byrd recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
He is a native of Baywood and was graduated from Galax High School in 1951. Lorena Byrd is a native of Sheldon, Iowa.

They met while students at Milligan College, Tenn., and were married in Paris, France, where he was stationed with the U.S. Army.
John Byrd taught at Galax High School 1958-1966. Lorena held temporary teaching positions at Fries High School, Independence High School, Oakland Elementary, and Galax High.
