It boggles my mind every time I read a news article in which citizens state that zoning makes them give up control of their land. This simply illustrates the ignorance that exists in our county.
Zoning protects the value of your property.
I own about 10 acres on the edge of town and I really don't wish to have a concrete plant or a chicken processing plant move in right beside me. My property values would go to zilch in a hurry.
The thing that people are forgetting is that they are in control of what the zoning ordinances control.
