Work for U.S. 58 in Laurel Fork on the way

Gov. Bob McDonnell made the announcement Wednesday

RICHMOND — State officials have found funding to advance widening of U.S. 58, including a five-mile segment in Laurel Fork, according to a news release from Gov. Bob McDonnell.

The governor said the Virginia Department of Transportation drove the project forward through its public-private contract with construction company Branch Highways. It follows on the bumper of completion of U.s. 58 improvements at Hillsville.
