A Galax woman who was involved in a single-car accident last Thursday night on Larkspur Lane has died.
Galax Police Capt. James Cox said Connie Liddle, 45, was traveling north on Country Club Lane in a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire and suffered from a medical condition that caused her to lose control of the vehicle.
Her car went through the intersection, across the yard at the Galax Elks Lodge, crossed Larkspur, struck a highway sign and a mailbox at Enterprise Leasing, plunged down a 59-foot embankment and flipped on its top.
She was partially ejected from the vehicle.
Rescue personnel administered CPR as she was pulled up the steep embankment. She was revived and airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
