HANOVER — A Doswell woman who struck and killed a Virginia State Police trooper during the state fair last year received a suspended sentence in Hanover County General District Court on Feb. 21.
Trooper Andrew David Fox died Oct. 5, 2012, of injuries sustained when he was struck by Angelica Valencia’s car while directing traffic at the Virginia State Fair near Richmond.
Fox, 27, lived in Draper and formerly Tazewell. He was laid to rest in Summerfield United Methodist Church cemetery in Elk Creek because his wife, Virginia Martin Fox, is from Grayson County.
A misdemeanor charge of reckless driving arose last November after an investigation.

The court also ordered Valencia to pay a $1,000 fine and $89 in court costs.
