HILLSVILLE — Carroll County deputies have charged a 40-year-old Gladesboro woman with felony child endangerment after a Jan. 2 call to a Crooked Oak Road home, according to Sheriff J.B. Gardner.

The report stated that a child at that home might have been assaulted.
Deputies and rescue units who responded found a “four-year-old child complaining of pain and bruising to her face around her eyes,” according to a press release issued by the sheriff.
Rescue transported the child first to Twin County Regional Hospital and then transferred the child to Brenner Children’s Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C., where she was listed in stable condition.
As the result of an investigation by Cpl. Barry Lineberry and Investigator Brandon Edwards, the deputies charged Amy Dutkiewicz Cooper with felony child endangerment.
