Post-season honors continued to roll in for some area volleyball players as Allison White of Galax and Carroll County’s Honesty Rogers and Maleah Neely were named first-team all-region recently.

White was one of two sophomores named first-team all-Region C, joining a group of four seniors on the team. A middle hitter, White was a key component in Galax’s run to the threshold of its first Group A state tournament appearance. The Maroon Tide lost in extra points in the fifth game of the region semifinals, finishing the year 18-5. White amassed an impressive 349 kills on the year, including a school record 36 in the Radford match. The owner of a potent jump serve, White had a .970 serving percentage, including 49 aces among her 110 serving points. She also came up with 182 digs on the year. Bath County, which won its first region title and reached the Group A championship match, took both top honors with player of the year Hillary Jessee and coach of the year Dave McGee. Rogers and Neely were first-team all-Region IV selections for Carroll County, which finished the year 21-2 after a region quarterfinal loss to Hidden Valley. Rogers, a junior libero, was second on the team with 206 digs through the regular season and served for 189 points, including 23 aces. Neely, a junior and the Southwest District player of the year, did a little bit of everything for the Cavaliers, leading Carroll County with 411 assists and 255 digs while finishing second on the team with 177 kills. She also led the team with 306 serving points and 47 aces, was a .955 server and registered 37 blocks in the regular season. Region champion Cave Spring also had two first-team picks and the coach of the year in Tamalyn Tanis, while Hidden Valley’s Samantha Ringer was voted the region’s player of the year. Two other Twin County players picked up post-season honors as well. Grayson County sophomore Brandi Goad was an honorable mention pick in Region C while junior Dionna Reece was a second-team selection in Region IV after leading the Cavaliers in kills with 238.   ALL-REGION C VOLLEYBALL TEAM
