War of words continues in Hillsville

HILLSVILLE — Mayor-elect Greg Crowder continued to be a “polarizing agent,” in the words of one speaker, as evidenced by comments from citizens at Hillsville Town Council on Monday.
At council’s June 11 meeting, supporters and opponents of Crowder — and, to a lesser extent, council member-elect David Young — exchanged often volatile words and accusations. Other speakers either backed or condemned Town Manager Larry South and Police Chief Steve Williams.
