Two facing drug charges after police respond to disturbance

A man and woman were arrested on Dec. 7 on drug-related charges, following an investigation of a residence in Galax.
According to Galax Police Chief Rick Clark, officers were called to the residence of Venus Inez Dyer, 41, of Galax to investigate a domestic disturbance. After further investigation, Sgt. Shawny Jones charged Dyer with possession of marijuana and possession of a Schedule II substance (methamphetamine).
Donald Lee Kegley, 60, of Galax was also charged after a search of the vehicle he was operating resulted in the discovery of suspected methamphetamine, Clark said. Kegley was charged by Officer Terry Woods.
Both Dyer and Kegley have been released on bond pending their appearance in the Galax General District Court.
