Two people have been arrested for credit card theft after a victim reported her purse was stolen from the Crossroads Institute last Tuesday, according to the Galax Police Department.
Galax Police responded to the complaint and, using information from the victim’s online credit card statement, identified suspects who had used the cards at Shoe Department, Walmart and Ciro’s, obtaining more than $800 in merchandise.
Neisha Jane Keith, 21, and Christopher Richard Walls, 22, both of Galax, were arrested.
Walls is also charged with being a fugitive from South Carolina after police discovered he is wanted on felony charges there.
The incident was investigated by Galax Police officers Mark Burnett and Jason Hawks.
Keith and Walls are scheduled to appear in the Galax General District Court on July 12.
