Town moves on to next manager candidate

HILLSVILLE — Council members have moved on to the next candidate on their list for Hillsville town manager, after a special meeting Monday.
Hillsville Town Council was supposed to talk about appointing the members of a hiring panel to assist with the selection of a new police chief, but they didn’t.
Instead, they went into a closed session for personnel.
When they came out again about an hour later, Mayor Greg Crowder announced the town manager candidate they offered the position to last week was unable to take it.
