Galax used 35 first quarter points Friday night en route to a 56-14 thrashing of district foe Bland County to pull even in Mountain Empire District play.
The Tide (6-3 overall, 2-2 district) held the ball for a miniscule 1:08 during the first 12 minutes of the game and touched the ball only seven times before the clock began to run continuously.
Bland County (0-9, 0-4) scored a season-high 14 points, but found little success with its triple option offense.
