Three facing drug charges in Galax

The Galax Police Department advised that three individuals are facing drug charges after three separate and unrelated incidents.

• David Isaac Hawks, 37, of Ennice N.C. was arrested Feb. 21 after a traffic stop conducted by Officer Drew Burnett assisted by Sgt. Jody Poole on East Stuart Drive in Galax.
Hawks was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a Schedule I or II narcotic with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and possession of a Schedule III narcotic.
He is being held in the New River Valley Regional Jail pending his appearance in Galax General District Court.
• Nathan Willard Wagner, 22, of Galax was arrested by Burnett on Feb. 21 after a disturbance call on Wilson Avenue in Galax.
Wagner was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana, and was sent to the regional jail in lieu of bond pending his appearance in Galax General District Court.
• Tony Alan Johnson, 39, of Ivanhoe (no photo available) was arrested by Sgt. Mark Burnett after a traffic stop on Feb. 22 for expired state inspection and operating a vehicle while his license was suspended.
Burnett’s observations during the traffic stop resulted in additional charges being placed, which included possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana.
Johnson is scheduled to appear in Galax General District Court.
