Team thanks community

The Galax Varsity boys’ basketball team wants to thank our community for supporting us on our journey to the State Championship.
This has been such a wonderful, exciting and proud moment in our lives, but none of it could have been possible without you.
We give all of the honor and glory to God as we quote one of our favorite verses, Phil 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”
We thank our parents for all of the guidance and support they have given us over the years. We thank our coaches from the recreation center to AAU to high school who have impacted our lives in many ways.
We thank the student body of Galax High, the managers/scorekeepers, the cheerleaders and the drum line for always cheering us on, making the games much more exciting and being a huge support.
We thank all of our fans who were so dedicated, traveled to our games and took us to that next level.
Thank you to all of the teachers, bus drivers and administration who have been behind us all the way.
Thanks to the local churches, restaurants, businesses and individuals who donated money, fed us, prayed for us and supported us along the way. Thank you to Dave Wilson for providing meals to us this year.
We also want to thank the Galax Fire Department and Galax Police Department who have been supportive in so many ways. Although we certainly feel like hometown heroes, we recognize you as the true heroes in our community!
Thanks also to The Gazette (sports editor Craig Worrell) and Doug Garvey for the wonderful job in covering our journey to the state title. These are the keepsakes that we will always have to remember this moment.
Not only did we claim the state championship title, but more humbly, we received the sportsmanship award for the tournament as we truly tried to represent God and our community to the best of our ability.
Again, thanks to our whole community, for without you, none of this would have been possible.
