TCRH welcomes New Year's baby

Twin County Regional Hospital (TCRH) recently welcomed the first baby of 2011.
James Alexander Bishop, son of Franklin and Andrea Bishop of Galax, was the baby born closest to New Year’s Day, on Jan. 4 at 10:03 a.m.
He weighed seven pounds, 15 ounces and measured 21 inches long.

He was delivered at TCRH by Dr. Carlos J. Blattner of Blue Ridge Physicians for Women.
TCRH thanked those who contributed to the family of the 2011 New Year’s baby, including: Blenda Bilbrey of TCRH staff (crocheted baby afghan, hat and booties); Chestnut Creek Coffee House (gift certificate); Corinthian Hair Salon (kids shampoo/conditioner and brush gift set); First Citizens Bank (savings bond); Galax Education Association (collection of children’s books).
Also, The Galax Smokehouse (gift certificate); Guynn Furniture (gift certificate); Ruth Hale of TCRH staff (Avon baby shoe keepsake necklace); New River Florist (flower arrangement); Sue Reedy of TCRH staff (Tupperware set); TCRH gift shop (Russ bear); and TCRH Wellness Center (six month free membership).
