Seven elementary schools in the Twin Counties received recognition from Gov. Bob McDonnell and the state Board of Education on Jan. 20.
Three Grayson County schools — Baywood, Fairview and Providence Elementary — earned the 2011 Board of Education Competence to Excellence Award for continued progress, including meeting all state and federal educational benchmarks for at least two consecutive years.
