A local campaign has raised all of the required funding to convert thousands of old local newspapers into a digital archive.
John Nunn, head of the project “Save the History,” recently announced that, thanks to the donations of many local businesses and individuals, a total of $16,000 has been raised to convert 44 rolls of microfilm containing 3,500 old issues of The Gazette into digital format. When the digital archiving is complete, the issues, which date back to the 1930s, will be available to view and search online.
