Rodriguez, Smoot win region, ‘X’ places in three state events

 RADFORD –– Xavier Rodriguez earned three top-four finishes while two Grayson County teammates also managed all-state efforts at the Group A state track and field championships last weekend at Radford University.

Rodriguez, a senior, placed second in the 100 meters with a time of 10.97 seconds, just .31 behind state champion Jestin Brown of Altavista.

Rodriguez also placed third in the 400 with a time of 50.48 and was fourth in the 200 (22.24).
