An alleged burglar made a bad call by leaving behind a key piece of evidence, according to the Carroll County Sheriff's Department.
Chase Kiran Altice, 34, of Vinton, has been charged in connection with a daytime break-in at a residence in the Laurel section of the county on Nov. 23.
Police discovered that a cell phone found inside the home belonged to the accused.
Carroll Sheriff Warren Manning said Altice's vehicle was spotted in the area at the time of the crime, as well.
