Re-elect Littrell to board of supervisors

-A A +A

I appreciate this opportunity to share with other citizens of Pipers Gap District why I support Tom Littrell for re‑election to supervisor.
Littrell is a man that loves his country and takes great pride in Carroll County.
My husband and I got to know him and through his involvement with the Boy Scouts.
Our son was a scout in Troop 188 of which Dr. Littrell was scoutmaster. We were amazed at the time, expense and sacrifices that he gave so that Scouts would have opportunities and life experiences.
He is entering his 39th year as scoutmaster of Troop 188. You will never meet a more even‑tempered, down to earth person.
When Doc told me that he was considering running for supervisor the first time, I asked if he was losing his mind.
After the constant bickering and personal attacks of the previous board, I knew that he would have a tough job. Doc said that maybe he could make a difference and felt like he should try.
I feel like he really has made a difference and truly cares about what happens for Carroll County. Soon after being elected, he enrolled in the Virginia Association of Counties certified course of supervisors.
He desired to learn more about county law, policy and procedures so that county business could be conducted in a proper manner, and with results.
He has served as vice chairman of the Public Service Authority and is supervisors’ chairman.
He has strived to make progress for our county without raising taxes.
He has had a successful dental practice in Galax for many years, and he and his wife Faye are members of Oakland United Methodist Church.
After asking Doc why he was running for re‑election, he said that he would like to see the projects that he was fortunate enough to be a part of to be completed.
Tom Littrell has business experience, the right motives and the wisdom to be a valuable asset to the upcoming board of supervisors.
When visiting the polls in November, support Tom Littrell for supervisor of Pipers Gap District.
